This is a chance to hunt Ruffed Grouse and Woodcock in northern Michigan’s Elk country.  

The Pigeon River State Forest is over 100,000 acres of public land called the Big Wild and is managed for the Elk Heard.  The Beaverdam Club was started in 1927 and is a rustic camp with a private membership 98 years later in the forest.

The main lodge houses our kitchen, dining and main club room.  There are 3 cabins that are wood heated but have water and electricity for clean-up after the days hunt.  The camp also sits on the Black River which is the only river in Michigan’s lower peninsula managed for wild brook trout.  We are on an extended season section, so the option to fish would be there even in October.

This offer would be good for the 2025 season and be for up to 4 people in one cabin and include 4 nights’ lodging and 3 days of hunting Grouse and Woodcock with an option for fishing.

Meals for the 3 days – Breakfast, Lunch and Dinners and Breakfast on the last morning.  Non-Alcoholic beverages would be included.

You are welcome to bring your own dogs.   I would also have myself to guide with dogs and will have a second person to guide for teams of 2 while hunting.

This is not a professional guide service – just a private camp with fellow bird hunters and fly-fishing people with a love of the outdoors.
